Advisory: Unsupported Versions of the N-Gage Application
Hey guys, just a quick warning about the unauthorized version of the N-Gage application floating around the net (the one that’s supposed to let you install the software on devices other than the N81):
We do not support this version.
Remember, the N-Gage application available through First Access is certified only for the Nokia N81. Using it on any other device could cause errors or other issues.
We ask you to only download the N-Gage games and application through the First Access forums, and to carefully review all documentation, including the End User Software Agreement (PDF link), before installing and using our software.
Oh, and please don’t link to the unauthorized version in your comments!

It’s funny you say that, seeing as how there’s already a multi-page list of known errors when you ARE using it on an N81. You mean it could actually be worse on other devices? Is that even possible?

works ok on my n95. What did nokia expect by only releasing it for n81. Not had one problem with the patched version of the app. Its only a program and can be deleted easy lol. Works on a lot of other nokia phones too.

i own the n95i 8gb and i’ve been waiting ages 4 it to be released when will we get the rough date. Cant wait got tons of games and looking 4ward to it

yeah it will not damage your phone. Its just a bit of software. You can uninstall it or delete it when ever you like.

N-gage in India :
Someone tell’em don’t hype too much as there r 2 major problems ,
1} Can’t Log in Arena with Airtel Online….
2} Can’t even open showroom by app(v 1.0),n dis can be done very rapidly by my N81 simple browser….
If possible do send sum suggestions regardin dis….

Why release it for n81? n95 is better…. it has 3d hw accelerator.. n81 doesnt.. n81 ain’t worth the money…

i was able to buy the full version of the fishing game using my n95. The game works fine with no problem so far. My name is even on the leader board lol. The guy who ask about the n73, it works on some, depends on what firmwear. N80 works too. Everything on the app works apart from the game store, but i hear n81 users have had that problem, some of them.

this isn’t so cool. You are relasing the version that supports N81 only for what reason? I just can’t understand it, explain. Explain to me, why somebody who owns N81 can use the software and I can’t with my N95 8gb? what is better in him?

N81’s main selling point are the dedicated gaming buttons and maybe the only reason people chose the device over N95.
I hastily purchased the N81 when launched and will now upgrade to N95 because ngage is rubbish,imo.

well this first access is I hope just a demo version of what nokia plan to release because to be blunt the games are just so out of date its untrue I know my phone can support better games than the ones that are demoed and they have been around for ages it begs the question why did it take solong to develope when all they nokia can come up with is this I do hope there not planning to compete with sony because they wont have chance if this is the best they can do in what 2 years

The reason they released this for the n81 first is simple. The n81 is the main ngage phone. And they wanted to limit it to only some users to see how it works. If you made something for the public would you let only a few people try it first, or 1000 people? If you let 1000 people try it you would just get slammed with complaints and issues and wouldn’t know where to start.
And your 3d graphics mean nothing on ngage. It would be like going to a movie theater and saying you should be first in line because you have the best car. What does you car have to do with a movie? Nothing. Just like your 3d graphics have nothing to do with ngage. It’s used for video video recording and some people decided to make a few games to take advantage of it. But ngage won’t.

I installed the n-gage software on my N95 8 gbyte (i also have an N81) and it works fine and better then n81 (N95 performance is better than N81…)

moreover… I didn’t use any unauthorized software, i just use the original N-gage software for N81…i didn’t use any crack software or keygen but only the original nokia software

LOL The other version is just extracted from the one available here, so there’s nothing patched about it, just the wrapper sis around it was removed. The fact that it’s just certified for the N81 is just easier for Nokia as they do not have to test the application using other devices, and the n-gage servers @ Nokia won’t be overloaded beacause of a huge number of dowloads if everyone posessing an NSeries device would download the trials etc.

Using “other” N-Gage application on any other device could not cause errors or other issues; but it is slow and buggy… I don´t know for N81; but on my N73 is slow!
I would be nice to present final application also for devices like N76,5700, 6120 because “other” app works fine on them.

This is getting ridiculous now. We’ve all waited so long for this, and all you can come up with is a sneak preview for people with an N81. I’d bet money that more people have N95 or N95 8GB than N81 anyways! You tested it internally, found bugs, and fixed them. We don’t care if it has problems when it comes out all software does! Just BRING IT OUT already… on whatever Nseries device! We know you’re only trying to cover your own backs with this preview but we honestly don’t care; we know what beta software is like and we want to try it out, it’s that simple!! Think, Nokia, think!!

I had the cracked version of ngage app on my N95, i had a problem that i can’t log in to my profile using WLAN only using GPRS / 3G. Why ??!

works on teh nokia n95 no problems (not talking about unauthorised version as my mobile security found that it had a mobile virus!) i mean the one downloadable on teh ngage website! Happy gaming ngagers!

unsuportet version? Im only one of other people the have released the “unsuportet” version of ngage.but this version its the original version too because the setup from nokia have 2 setups. The first setup ask your mobile.if it is a n81 the second setup install the program.you can install the second setup and you can play on others n-mobiles

ikona, i’m really tired of waitin’. Where’s the full version 4 all the phones? And why tha’ hack only N81 users get the firstaccess AP?! And what about the N95 or N82 users? Don’t they deserve it 2?! Then why the hell i bought the N82? If i knew i would had bought E51 or smth.

everybody just download the fixed version of the app. Had no problems on my n95 at all with it. And i and doing really well playing creatures of the deep, check out the high score :o)
