Best of the First Generation + New Videos and Photos
All About N-Gage has put up a new poll asking you to vote on which first and third party games for the first generation N-Gage you’d like to see return for the next generation.
“Contrary to popular belief, the original generation of N-Gage had many great games, but unfortunately almost all of them were released in 2004 and 2005, after most of the gaming world started ignoring the system in 2003. Now that the Next Generation of N-Gage is here, perhaps there’s a chance to give some of these wonderful “lost” games another chance. “
Be sure to check it out and vote! So far, Pathway to Glory has a commanding lead in first party games, and Worms World Party is leading the pack for third party titles.
In other news, I’ve put up a couple new movies on the game pages of N-Gage.com. The Asphalt 3 page has a new movie, in better resolution and showing more gameplay than the earlier one. There’s also a brand new movie for Brothers in Arms, the World War II action game from Gameloft.
To view the videos, go to the Showroom then to an individual game page, then click on the “View Screenshots” button. There is a thumbnail in the Gallery that will start the video playing.
Finally, there are new high resolution pictures of the Nokia N81 8GB available on the Nokia press photo site.

Hi ikona,
I’am looking at the Brothers in Arms game video and I see the same that was in the Brothers in arms 3D game that was release by gameloft not for n-gage. I want to ask this question again are there going to be hardware accelerated games among the range of lunch titles on the HW supported devices like N95 and N93? Or the next gen games are all going to be usual for mobile software rendering, even the system rush and snakes that were hw accelerated and preinstalled on the N95 and N93. I mean they were looking so nice on N95 why it was necessary to make them in software rendering. Or these game will chose weather to run hw or software rendering depending on the device, this question still remains unanswered?

Hi Scihunter,
That’s a good question about the launch titles, one I don’t actually know the answer to, so let me try to find out. But will all next gen games be software rendering only? I don’t think that’s the plan at all.

scihunter, the impression I get from Nokia interviews is that the games will be SW rendered at launch, but they’re waiting for 3D hardware to become more common before releasing HW rendered games. This may mean we’ll see a lot more N-Gage compatible phones with 3D chips in the near future.
Like you I think they should release games which use HW rendering if it’s present but include a SW rendering version too. This is how PC games worked when the very first 3D cards appeared, and it made the transition to PC HW rendering much easier.

Bonjour!

Is it confirmed that Asphalt 3 will contain 9 cars+3 bikes? It must be a poor attempt then. Asphalt 2 had 46 cars+11 bikes!
