Nokia N97 with N-Gage

The highly anticipated Nokia N97 has new software available, making Nokia’s flagship mobile computer N-Gage compatible.

Along with a tilting 3.5″ touch display, QWERTY keyboard and a fully customizable home screen, the Nokia N97 will offer instant access to the full range of Ovi services.

The Nokia N97 is Nokia’s first device to feature a personalizable home screen, which can be customized with a range of widgets which bring live information directly to the device. These widgets include key social networking destinations like Facebook and Hi5, news services like the Associated Press, Bloomberg and Reuters, as well as shopping and weather information.

Update

The N97 software can be downloaded from the Get N-Gage section of the Website.

Don’t forget to vote for your favorite video in the “Symbian-Guru Don’t Hate The Player Video Contest.” Further details from the site:

“Three weeks ago, we introduced the Symbian-Guru Don’t Hate The Player video contest, with three lucky winners getting to choose any currently-shipping N-Gage device that they want, which includes the Nokia N97 and Nokia N86 8MP! The contest was, admittedly, a bit more difficult, but we ended up with 16 entries, which is quite good. Oddly, the Bounce Boing Voyage video garnered more entries than the One. The contest is now closed, and voting is open as of right now.”

Another recent article about the upcoming N-Gage devices was posted on N-Gage.com last week. In this article I give an overview of each device, add some N-Gage notes, and include links to different resources where you can learn more.

Of all the upcoming devices, it seems the Nokia N97 is the most anticipated N-Gage compatible device. We recently ran a poll in which almost two thirds of you said that was the one you were looking forward to the most. Coincidentally All About N-Gage ran the same poll around the same time, with almost exactly the same results. That poll also includes links to YouTube videos, showing the new devices in action.
