The Nokia 6720 Classic

The Nokia 6720 Classic

At this year’s Mobile World Congress, we announced new devices that are planned to be compatible with N-Gage, including a new Nseries devices, our first Eseries devices, and more.

These announcements join the previously unveiled Nokia 5630 and Nokia N97 in our rapidly expanding lineup of upcoming devices. Here are some notes on each device:

Nokia N86

“When Nokia set out to make the best mobile imaging device, it combined wide-angle Carl Zeiss optics and an 8 megapixel sensor, resulting in performance comparable to a stand alone digital camera. The Nokia N86 8MP is designed to excel in both bright and low light conditions, and it’s optimized for both video and still imaging. Its high-speed connectivity ensures easy and convenient sharing. The Nokia N86 8MP is expected to begin shipping in the second quarter of 2009.”

Nokia 6720 Classic & 6710 Navigator

“[A] new arrival is the Nokia 6720 classic, which builds on the Nokia heritage of traditional candybar phones that excel in all areas… To complement the impressive mapping capabilities, [it offers] an improved design with a slightly curved shape, providing a pleasant feel with a soft touch surface. When holding the devices to take photos with the 5 megapixel camera, standard with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash on both handsets, the new shape makes them easier to hold.

Nokia E75 & E55

Both devices also come standard with Nokia Messaging that, when added to the company’s corporate email clients, gives people the most efficient solution for accessing the world’s consumer and corporate email on the go.

“Added to the Nokia Messaging service, both devices come with full Nokia Maps and assisted GPS with integrated 3-month license for turn-by-turn navigation, and a great gaming experience with N-Gage on board.”

Also announced was  the creation of a new Ovi Store and that the N97 is now planned for a June release; there is no updated on the N93 or N73 at this time.

N-Gage reaches out to online gamers in their hour of need.

With Microsoft’s Xbox Live service receiving routine maintenance on Monday, September 29, over 12 million subscribers may need to leave their consoles and interact with society. One company is doing its part to help New York City and Chicago area gamers in their natural habitat.

Nokia, Inc., the world’s largest mobile device manufacturer and home to N-Gage, invites gamers to their flagship stores in New York City and Chicago to get their online gaming fix. N-Gage experts will be on-hand to help — or challenge — willing customers. Nokia is also giving away free access codes to its newest game — Star Wars™ The Force Unleashed™. This hotly anticipated title brings the Star Wars world right to Nokia handsets so that gamers can take the game with them wherever they go — however “far, far away” from their consoles they venture. And by creating a Player Name in the free N-Gage Arena, gamers can challenge their friends (or complete strangers) over the N-Gage network.

Gamers who want to take Nokia up on this offer only need to walk into Nokia Flagship stores in New York and Chicago on Monday September 29, 2008 during store hours and ask for the free Star Wars The Force Unleashed game for N-Gage. In doing so, they will also receive a 15% discount on any available N-Gage-compatible Nokia device. These devices include the Nokia N95*, Nokia N95 8GB, Nokia N81, Nokia N81 8GB and Nokia N82.

All About N-Gage takes a look at the Nokia N95 as a gaming device and finds it the best one around. Here’s what they had to say:

“If you’re in the market for an N-Gage phone right now, the N95 would be our current recommendation. You may also want to consider its cousin the Nokia N95 8GB, which has a larger screen and multimedia/gaming buttons that are raised from the surface slightly.”
