Shaysoft Covers N-Gage

A blog reader and N-Gage fan has let me know about his website Shaysoft, which is dedicated to all things Nokia and  has now begun covering N-Gage games with reviews. The site is called Shaysoft and can be found at the web address www.shaysoft.net. Among the games he’s reviewed so far are Dance Fabulous, Spore Origins, Worms World Party, and Brain Challenge.

Here’s an example of the site’s take on Dance Fabulous:

“I think this is the most important part of this game because it all depends on you. You can import musics what you like. It only supports MP3/M4A or aacplus version files. So make sure your musics are all MP3/M4A or aacplus version.”

Read the full review here, and of course visit the entire Shaysoft N-Gage section here. Incidentally, an updated version of Dance Fabulous is being released shortly.

Worms World Party is a Keeper

Worms World Party for the N-Gage platform is the kind of game you’ll probably still be playing in a year or two,” according to its latest review.

The website formerly known as All About N-Gage has given it a hearty recommendation, scoring the game 85% and its coveted “Recommended” rating. Here’s a sample from the review:

“The joy of the game is in using specific weapons in useful ways, and imaginative players will often manage to make weapons do very unexpected things. Despite the silly cartoon graphics and funny voices, Worms is actually a solid turn-based strategy game which can be taken just as seriously as chess.”

It’s a very thorough review, encompassing numerous screen shots and even video, so if you’re still on the fence about this one, head on over and give it a read.

New Social Site for N-Gagers

n-Alliance.org is a new site brought to you by the creators of the N-Gage Turkiye fan site. It allows you to join a social media group similar to Twitter but designed just for N-Gage fans. Try it out here, and remember this is not an official Nokia or N-Gage service.

All About N-Gage Reviews Pandemonium

“For all the swish graphics, pretty spinning viewpoints, Pandemonium is a simple platformer that has been well designed. While it was a good console game, the short levels and ability to return to the game at the starting point of the next uncompleted level make it a great game for the casual gaming market.”

Gamer Daily’s Worms World Party Review

“Worms, that perennial game of strategic destruction. For over a decade those little pink guys have been waging war amongst themselves for our entertainment. Now they’ve moved to the N-Gage with their particular brand of turn-based mayhem.com”

Gamer Daily’s Real Football 2009 Review

“It’s a question that begs an answer right now, can pocket-sized football really be any good? Real Football 2009 from Gameloft offers you multiple modes of play much like a full-sized football game would.”

Review: Prince of Persia
“N-Gage is Nokia’s premier mobile gaming experience so the games there are supposed to be exceptional as far as mobile games go. Unfortunately Prince of Persia does not really fall into what I would call a premier gaming experience.”

Review: Worm’s World Party
“The Worms series has had various incarnations on the consoles and handhelds, and now makes its way to the mobile. You’ll take command of eight different worms in what can only be described as Lemmings meets the arsenal of the US armed forces, in a bid to destroy your foe - none other than another army of worms.”

Review: Need for Speed Undercover
“Need for Speed is to N-Gage what the Yugo was to the automobile market. This pint-sized knock off from the PC and console series is a one cylinder wonder, as in I wonder how it even got moving in the first place.”

Reset Generation’s Scott Foe Interviewed
“The youth market is going mobile: That’s the trend. The mobile device is personal, a statement of individual freedom as impactful as the automobile was to generations previous.”

The World’s Partying With Worms

Pocket Gamer has put up its review of Worms World Party, awarding it an 8/10 and a coveted Silver Medal award.

Reviewer Spanner Spencer enjoys the game immensely, mentioning that it features all of the great features of the franchise, with the addition of four-player multiplayer play, enabled by N-Gage.

Here’s a snippet:

“You’re placed in control of eight warfaring worms, who take it in turns to wipe out the enemy using a host of wonderfully imaginative weapons and tools. You can throw grenades, launch bazookas, use ninja ropes to achieve a better vantage point, build fortifications and put a host of other close combat techniques to use in ensuring you’re the last Worm standing. Or crawling.”

He concludes: “If you’re a fan, you’ll once again find yourself dangling from a Worms baited hook.”

Another review comes from games blog, Zomgitscj.com. CJ points out the first Worms’ game impact on the original generation of N-Gage, and rates the game’s impact in those terms:

“When Worms World Party first came out on the Original Generation N-Gage, it was a massive hit. Suddenly everyone on the N-Gage Arena (the online Multiplayer universe) was talking about the game and playing it online. It was a game that was fun, worked great online and generally showed people what N-Gage was all about. Clearly the Original Worms World Party on N-Gage cast a large shadow for future N-Gage Games.”

He also points out the lack of a tutorial means newcomers to the franchise should really play single player a lot before venturing online for a sound thrashing at the hands of the N-Gage elite.
He also adds enough notes about the game, his review is almost a tutorial itself. Read the full article here.

It looks like Worms is enjoying good reviews and great sales, topping our charts for the last two weeks running. So get into the fun! So don’t delay, download the free trial today.
