N-Gage compatible devices reviewed
Hello all, thought it was time to get a new post up, even though I don’t have any updates for you regarding N-Gage First Access — sorry about that, for all of you waiting patiently. But in the mean time, here are some recent reviews of N-Gage compatible devices you might enjoy. Note: some links may not be optimized for viewing on a mobile web browser.
Geek.com reviews the Nokia N95 8GB
“The N95 turns out to be one of the best gaming phones ever. The device uses its powerful processor, all that storage, and the large display to play games extremely well, including in impressive 3D.”
Brighthand.com review the Nokia N81 8GB
“Almost matching the N95 8GB feature for feature, this smartphone is featured as the music and gaming device du jour from Nokia, and comes loaded to the gills.”
OS News.com reviews the Nokia N82
“While it’s not ready yet for download, the N82 is NGage-ready. It has a 3D accelerator in it, and it came pre-installed with two 3D games to showcase the platform.”
Mobile Today review the Nokia N95 8GB
“This is all in one. You can take it on holidays and you have a mobile, a camera, an FM radio and GPS, so you can’t get lost.”
Mobile Today reviews the Nokia N81 8GB
“The Carphone salesman calls it ‘a gamer’s dream’, while Kane says the N81 is a ‘typically stylish Nokia’.”
Discussion — which N-Gage compatible device do you have or wish to get? Another question - how many of you are reading this blog on your mobile device as opposed to a PC? Let’s see a show of hands.

news about nothing, but we will wait. Go nokia!
January 22nd, 2008 at 6:26 pm
hey!enough, nokia!how many times do you want to repeat the same sentence “don’t have any update about first access”?
January 23rd, 2008 at 1:47 am
I usually wiev the N-Gage.com on my N81 8GB, and the forums work great!
Tho I cant use the live chat clubhouse :/
Now im posting this with a school pc.
lol, I agree with the first N81 8GB rewiev. It is wery hard for me to put down my phone. I’m also quite itching for the N-Gage games.
Just when will it release, with the N81 8GB firmware, I can’t wait…
January 23rd, 2008 at 2:00 am
Compatible with what?
N-gage you say? the supposed gaming platform that should been released 2007?
These phones will probably be old when the platform arrives…
Discussion:
I have a N81
Yes I have read this blog from my mobile phone, but there are rarely any new info
January 23rd, 2008 at 5:49 am
this information is worse then nothing . nokia, we want to know only about first access !!! We wait !!!
January 23rd, 2008 at 8:07 am
Looks like the N-Gage is becoming the new Duke Nukem Forever.
ikona: Straight up, why can’t you give us any updates on the launch? It’s been a month since this supposed “issue” was discovered and we hear nothing since. You DO know what’s going on, yet you (or Nokia) choose not to share the information with the very people who will be buying your products. PLEASE ANSWER THIS AND TELL US WHY!!!! What harm is there in keeping us a little more informed? Is it launching in a week? A month? During 2008 at all???? Just tell us SOMETHING. This is really getting pathetic. Or is that even possible?
January 23rd, 2008 at 10:47 am
Given confidently even programmers don’t know the NGage 2.0 premiere… He seems for me, that however “start” of this platform will be… no! it won’t be.
January 23rd, 2008 at 4:21 pm
r u kidding? Such a funny blog entry. I’m using n95 and this is my twelve nokia phone. I never saw such a bad marketing ever from nokia. Yes I’m using n95, yes I love my handy, yes I’m here via my n95 browser but no, u dont deserve my hands to write here. I am angry because u post meanless entries, keep silent or post the good or bad news.
January 23rd, 2008 at 4:32 pm
I have N95 8GB!
Top of the phones
January 23rd, 2008 at 11:53 pm
Yawn, I’m already bored with my N81. Without Ngage this mobile is just like any ordinary phone.
Hope I havent sell this phone when Ngage launched. All my Ngage demo is not very apealing now.
Nokia should at least give us another demo to download or something
January 24th, 2008 at 12:00 am

Plz, i’m selling my phone…. i don’t need any n-gage compatible device….I’m buying n-gage itself….
It was supposed to be launched in 2007 october…..then december….then 2008 jan 1st week…..then it suddenly becomes “NO IDEA”……Well done nokia…..keep up the good work of losing your customers
January 24th, 2008 at 5:59 am
U Guys said u release it early in 2008, but what is early. Some people get up early at 6 in the morning and othres get up at 4pm so what is early? Is it so difficult to tell when it’s released and what the reasons are y it comes later then told before.Nice Phones but if u don’t keep the customers informed everybody would be angry…If i didn’t inform one from our customer when something needs time he won’t be my Customer in Future…..

My phone subscription ended so I renewed it and chose the phone Nokia N85 8GB to test the new N-Gage platform but I have had nothing but bad experiences until now.
First off the phones media buttons sucks for gaming. All other console controllers/handheld consoles have reasonable buttons, how hard is it to make similiar buttons for a phone that should interest gamers?
I also have a hard time navigating the phone. It only have a up down left right nav-center. On all my other phones the last 10 years I have had either a keyboard, a touchscreen or a jog-dial. Or several of these features at once. Nokia has none and it is hard to navigate fast and easy. I don’t understand why msn is included on my phone as well when you can’t type. And there is no Nokia keyboard in my regions to buy.. -_-
Throw me some games and show me that the damn phone works. Come on!
January 24th, 2008 at 9:01 am
Dont post reviews of the phones, we own the phones already we just want the N-Gage service already.
January 24th, 2008 at 10:32 am
n95 8gb.. Hard to put down. Soon?? Harder to put down? Just works!
January 24th, 2008 at 6:57 pm
Yea.. I’ve had my n95 for about a month now, partly bought it for n-gage, and its still not out… REALLY big let down, i heard some rumours saying its coming out around march? Anybody else hear that?
January 25th, 2008 at 2:56 am
I own 7 s60 nokia phones, latest 1 is a n95. Using my 6630 at the moment viewing this site. First time i have made a comment here but have been reading it for months. How about nokia releasing the demo ngage app to download for people who dont even have that. One last thing, i dont know why people go on about 8gig phones being so good, we got 8gig sd cards now and 16gig cards coming in a few months. I know what i think is best. Did you know nokia put a slow cpu in the n95 8gig than the first n95. Guess it was for the batter to last longer lol. Why did nokia not put a 3d chip in the n81, i can see all games being made for the lowest spec phone and none of the games ever using the 3d chip.

fifa2008
January 26th, 2008 at 11:01 am
hmmm. i reckon the fm genie scout 2008 is trying to do ngage as well
January 26th, 2008 at 6:51 pm
Well I just spent $700 Australian dollars to buy the Nokia N81 with the promise that N-gage would launch at the same time at the start of December.
Now i can buy the same phone for $500 and I still can’t play N-gage.
The situation is absolutely unacceptable.
If the Nintendo DS or the PSP launched with no games for two months straight, it would not be acceptable so N-gage should be the same. At least let us buy the games without online play for the time being, or let us buy the games that come with the N81, Fifa, Space invaders and ashpalt.
January 27th, 2008 at 11:12 am
no offense nokia but we no what phones are compatible thats why were here coz we got the phones that are compatible and we want ngage there must be serious problems with the applications to be delayed this long. And to all you waitin just buy a psp if you want gamin don’t give nokia anymore money coz they con’d you into buyin a phone on false pretences
January 27th, 2008 at 12:22 pm
I agree with Carl. First it was scheduled for November, then mid of December, now we have end of January and absolutely no information. I feel like Nokia is ignoring own customers. I really understand that You don’t want to release unfinished product, but any information about progress would be really nice.
January 28th, 2008 at 1:25 am
nothing to say lah NOKIA.. Actually, we all eagerly waiting for the first access..
at least let us know the date or month??? i want to play COD game in my Nokia N73 ME..
January 28th, 2008 at 10:15 am
Reading and posting from my N95 on the train in the uk! Getting deeply impatient for the long awaited and now long delayed N-gage app grr!
January 28th, 2008 at 10:42 pm
Listen up folks. First access is coming VERY soon. Peace…
January 29th, 2008 at 12:27 pm
Dont know when nokia will open new ngage platform but whenever it happens u will need this site to download all ngage games. http://n-gagegamer.Freegaming.Org
January 29th, 2008 at 12:53 pm
I got the n81 8gb, i went straight for the game phone, and i am still impressed. I do just pick it up to play with it all the time! Up until i got my broadband switched at home a couple of weeks ago, this phone was all i used for the net, and i still use the n gage site exclusively from it. Although i have decided to use opera mini for this site as the browser doesn’t seem to render the site very well, especially on the blog pages!
January 30th, 2008 at 1:04 am
Strange.
All these years and still people expect Nokia to be capable to actually deliver something in time…
January 30th, 2008 at 11:09 am
all fine for the n95 8gb but what about the normal n95? My phone keeps crashing when i try to play the fifa demo!
January 30th, 2008 at 11:20 pm
Carl - Ikona, like many of the Nokia & N-Gage staff, are probably bound by a Non-Disclosure Agreement in their contract for employment - which basically means if they spill the beans when they ain’t allowed to, they could be fired. So in short, they can’t tell us, even *if* they knew.
Getting back to the questions at the bottom of the entry, I’m lucky enough to have 2 devices, an N95 and a N93i - to be honest, i think i prefer the N93i for the gaming aspect due to the way you can flip it open “DS-Stylee” and the way you can hold it as a camcorder (i have a hand injury which makes it shake a lot) so being able to hold with both hands and not obscure the view is great.
As for viewing the blog on mobile or PC, i prefer PC, simply because i think the operators need to do something for a flat rate access package to WiFi in the UK, the charge per MB thing is ridiculous. We’ve just had splurges in mobile broadband via dongles in the world (I know the UK and Australia and promoting it) and 3 UK are going pay as you go format per GB on Laptops - For me, i just need that style on handset wifi for me to start using it.
January 31st, 2008 at 11:24 am
i’m reading this blog from my n95 8gb. I bought it in the hope that i could play ngage games. I’ve been waiting for it since the release of n95 8gb. It would be nice if nokia release few more games. Even demo is good enough for now.
January 31st, 2008 at 11:31 am
The NGage premiere will come then when finished works stay above N-Gage 3.0? The Nokii behaviour is silly and pitiful…
February 2nd, 2008 at 4:08 am
i mostly view this site on my n95 8gb ! I love it !
February 2nd, 2008 at 4:20 am
Another useless update. This is starting to get embarrassing. Nokia, get a handle on this PR debacle before it gets any worse. Your customers need real, honest news on when N-Gage will drop.
February 2nd, 2008 at 5:30 am
i dont know why im visit the site every day? Nokia dont give us new information! And i dont know why i have buy a n95? Tzzz
February 2nd, 2008 at 10:49 am
does anybody know when we can use the n.gage
February 2nd, 2008 at 4:20 pm
Reading this on my n82. The s60 browser is pretty much my primary browser these days.
But you guys need to tell us something. Give us another demo. Maybe give all of us that have been waiting a free game. Something to rectify the situation. It’s not fair for all of us that paid big money for a handset based on the fact it will run ngage and there is still no ngage.
I personally think nokia got themselves into a big mess with all this. Problems are coming up that weren’t anticipated and they aren’t sure what to do.
February 2nd, 2008 at 5:22 pm
feb already.. I just hope faster.
Don’t make who brought N81 feel unworthy and being cheated, their camera only 2MP
I use N95, fortunely it’s not only for gaming or i’ll be much more sad~ i like to surf internet using s60v3 browser just need more rams:)
Come on faster, Nokia. I just waiting for that fishing game. Look cool!!!
February 3rd, 2008 at 1:42 am
I’m one of those who are reading the blog and writing this comment with an N81 8GB, from bed, connected via wifi and while i listen my fav music
February 3rd, 2008 at 2:23 am
Nokia, where is your professionalism? I’m disappointed and be sure that I’m not alone. At least inform us better or give us something to amuse ourselves.
February 3rd, 2008 at 10:43 pm

February 3rd, 2008 at 11:10 pm
