A Conference and a Secret
Two quick updates for you today. First, it looks like Nokia is going to be a sponsor for the 2007 Leipzig Game Developers Conference. Here’s the gist of the press release:
The GC Developers Conference (GCDC) today announced that Nokia, the world leader in mobile communications, has pledged its support for the conference and, along with Intel, now holds a main sponsor spot. Presenting its new N-Gage platform, Nokia will contribute to this year’s exciting GCDC programme, Europe’s most important platform for developers, from August 20-22, 2007.
As a platinum sponsor of GCDC, Nokia will be giving a keynote speech at the mobile conference alongside several sponsored speaker sessions. Nokia is also sponsoring the GCDC Night where they will be showcasing their new line-up of N-Gage games, and running competitions where lucky winners will receive Nokia N95s.
Now be careful with this next bit of news, it’s a secret!
Pocket Gamer is reporting that Nokia is holding secret N-Gage workshops for mobile game developers in Japan and China, similar to the ones that were allegedly held in Santa Monica last January.
We of course can neither confirm nor deny this report… Hey, I always wanted to say that! ![]()

Great News for the N-Gage. With a few really good games the N-Gage can rock.

Its hard to believe that nokia not making a dedicated N-gage gaming handheld device.
As nokia is doing all sorts of things to develop good games, keeping my fingers crossed,
even Impossible says I M possible.
So why not Ngage Dedicated handheld Device FTW

i will like very very much to see also a dedicated gaming device too, ok nokia expensive phones with n-gage hardware ans software is ok, but please also make a phone without camera and stuff, but with n-gage hardware, let’s say like QD. In this case we, consumers will have to make a choise, because i think n95 and n93 for me are too expensive and have too much stuff, i dont use camera, gps, mp3 player, video player and games will be more than ok
if it will be a dedicated gaming device i surely will buy it, if not i’m thinking about an n93
PS: also please make bigger games to feed hungry gamers, and our needs :)) and maybe a bigger screen will be very good too. 2,4 or 2,6 inch is ok, but for others is quite small, if will be a 2,8″ screen it will be just perfect! (i’m serious) bigger screen = better game experience

If Next-gen exceeds expectation I reckon Nokia will develop a dedicated device. Why not? ha

i remember some nokia executive hinted that there would be some sort of tiny bluetooth controllers to be made available to facilitate gaming.

Nokia has made phones with dedicated 3D graphics cards. That’s good. But the controls on those phones aren’t very suitable for gaming. Also those phones are very expensive. Nokia should make a cheaper phone that has good controls for gaming, like the original N-gage had.

oh yeah that’s right LosOutlandos I herd about the same thing. They also developed this glove (or sleeve) that would be used in bluetooth to control mobile devices. Very Cool man very cool. Cos imagine it using the TV out (like on N93) and using the bluetooth controller … wicked ae.
