N-Gage First Access Ending Soon
All good things must come to an end, including N-Gage First Access, which will end on March 27.
We thank all First Access participants for their valuable feedback. Our development team is working as hard as it can in order to implement as many changes and fixes as they can in time for our rollout in the next few weeks.
There are a few key points to remember during this time:
• We are no longer supporting the pre-release version of the N-Gage application after March 27.
• You can continue to play your games and game trials using the pre-release version of the N-Gage application. However we strongly encourage you to upgrade to the full release version of the N-Gage application and games once it becomes available. Don’t miss out on the fresh start!
• The Player Name and password you created for First Access will not be valid for full rollout, unless they were the same as your existing Player Name and password on the Arena forums.
• Game licenses you purchased during First Access will carry over into the commercial launch, but you will need to install the new version of the N-Gage application and re-install the games.
• Saved games, Point Pickups, and N-Gage Points accrued will be reset, to give everyone a fresh start.
We’d like some final feedback on your overall experience with First Access. As a thank you for completing the survey, we’ll send you a complimentary Activation Code for a copy of the upcoming game, Mile High Pinball.
Once the game is released, you’ll receive the Activation Code via email and/or message board Private Message system. We will also be adding 1000 community points to your profile.
Just complete our survey to sign up!

yes please
an updated client would be great

I’ve trialed N-gage First Access on my N95. And I’d like to give you my opinions about it by completing your survey. Unfortunately, at questions nr. 2 and 3 I can’t respond truthfully, since I don’t have a N81. So, can I take the survey, anyhow? Will it help you?
Thanks,
Radu

Hello,
I was very satisfied with the first version. And I am curious what the new will bring. MFG E. Kraska

Please can we see NGage on the 6120 Classic (and the forthcoming 6220 Classic while you’re about it) please? Surely the 6120 is the best selling S60 device, and more than capable of NGage gaming? It would be lunacy to leave this off the supported devices list, or delay it.
Thanks.

I used N-gage first access on my n95 8 gb… I will be able to obtain the Mile High Pinball activation code and 1000 points for my profile or not?
March 20th, 2008 at 5:29 am
this new update will be to all N model phones?
March 20th, 2008 at 5:54 am
Hello,
does that means only first access will shut down and no release of the
new ngage software? Hmm lets look what will be a few weeks more…

Why are you people shamelessly backing the N81? HO:COTD earlier, and now Mile High Pinball for free? What wrong has owners of other handsets done? Add to that 1000 community points. Absolute rubbish. Sorry, but I must say, I am losing interest in N-Gage due to the following reasons:
1. Very very very…… late launch. What were your programmers doing for 2 years? Why the bugs (and the serious ones) are arriving at the time of launch?
2. Dearth of proper games. Titles like WSOP, Dogz are too casual for MY taste.
3. No support for some handsets which should have received N-Gage, like the E90.
And lastly, the reason I stated above - shameless support for N81 and zero support till now for others, including much higher priced and much more powerful handsets.

This news saddens my heart to the core. I actually cried a little. Only 7 more days of First Access before the inevitable 6 months of waiting for the full application to be released.
Oh well, until then I will go back to my original N-Gage and keep trying to beat the first training mission of Payload. I’ve owned this game for a year and still cannot pass the training mode for crying out loud. A small note to Nokia for if, no WHEN, the sequel to Payload comes out: If a game has over 70 levels, you should think about slowly ramping up the difficulty. If players have a hard time passing the TRAINING mode, that might be a sign that you should tone it down a bit. Either that or hire competent producers.

–this new update will be to all N model phones?–
Not all of them.
So far Nokia has said the platform will be for: N73, N78, N81, N82, N93, N95, N96, and more phones will be added to the platform in the future (including some non-Nseries too).

why wipe the high scores and points, some of us have worked hard to get them. They should stay.
March 21st, 2008 at 7:30 am
oh for the love of-!
LISTEN UP! Especially you effing whiners who cant read!
1. The first access will end march 27th, wich is the LAUNCH DATE of the NEW FULL N-GAGE application. They just had to informt aht first access ends the same day, so people wont be asking why their first access app doesnt work online after that.
2. Yes, they will add new devices to the new application, byt N73 has to wait, so sorry and stop whining.
3. Save games will be gone and so will be your N-Gage points. Yes, it sucks, but its all in the name of being fair to other users.
4. You DONT have to buy the games again. The license should be on your device or then in your email.
5. The profile you will be using onward form march 27th will be the same as your forum one, or the player name you reserved from this site. Enter THAT username and password AFTER you have upgraded to the new application, available after march 27th.
The people, who didnt get that, must either be completely stupid idiots, or just incapable of reading.
What sickens me is that one idiot asks the question, it gets awnsered and THEN MILLIONS of idiots ask THE SAME F**KING QUESTION!
We do on need our forums or blog to be filled with this kind of nooby question spam. Also, the people who misread, misunderstand, or dont understand a post like this announcement and then start hating everyone and everything because of their own stupidity, should just SHUT UP!
“We have to wait again” you say? If this post wasnt here to announce the frigging launch date, youd be filling our forums with your stupid complaints of Nokia not announcing the launch date!
What, you got a phone you dont like? Sucks to be you! Nobody gives a shit if you picked a phone you dont like! You should have tried out the phone in the shop a little and though “Hmmm, meaby another phone would be better?”
“I want N-Gage for N70!” Aint gonna happen, so forget it!
Hope this rant will make the stupid people asking the same questions over and over to shut up!
And also those who complain about stuff they hate about a phone they got just because they wanted to be in first access which they KNEW would end!
March 21st, 2008 at 7:35 am
And if your going to call me stupid or hate me just because I told the truth of you whining noob people, go ahead! I don’t care if people I don’t know hate me.
OR if you’re going to point out at my typos, then you are desperate to try to look smart. Everyone gets typos once in a while. Atleast I’m not spelling everything “OMGINCAPSANALLINWONWOORRRDANMISSSPSEEELLEDDDANDUNNCEDDESSARYSTRECHEED111111ONEONEELEVENONE!” unlike some very sad people here who actually spell like that.

so wiping everyones scores and points is fair. So why give n81 users 1000 points for nothing. Thats not fair. I am a n95 user and i have a great score on creatures of the deep, i should not have to start the game again. Is nokia going to keep wiping the high scores everytime a new phone gets added to the list what works with ngage. The scores and points should be left alone.
March 21st, 2008 at 9:41 am
Some of you on here are getting upset over a very small matter. If you’d read your license agreements, like it says in the instructions, “First Access” isn’t even a full launch version, and therefore full of bugs. But, so typical, you just agreed without reading the license agreement, and now you’re moaning because you think something was unfair, and actually, it was probably covered in your licensing agreement.
Now, i am with those of you who have been waiting for the new platform to launch, I’m a N95 & N93i user, so I wasn’t able to try out First Access properly, but there was a reason why it was ONLY for N81 devices, and that was to restrict multiple handset type problems, and isolate bugs ready for the full launch - you imagine trying to handle 5 of the same bug across 20 different handsets, what a nightmare.
For those of you who used the unauthorised app, why are you complaining? You circumvented measures in order to play the games, and i think the loss of your scores is minor, as you can easily get the score back once the full system is launched.
0phil0, You may think that because you’re a N95 user and the N81 users get free games that it’s unfair. Reverse that. Then the N81 users would complain. There will be more chances for free games once the new system is launched and the new tournaments in the Arena are running.
The First Access database is different to the current database, and as a result, scores and player data cannot be transferred to the existing database - which will be used for the launch version of N-Gage.
Some things in life are not fair, and in some cases, it’s best to let go, and enjoy getting a new high score - You may even better it. You may even better it because there aren’t any bugs there any more.
In order to move on, we have to let a few things go. And some people need to start learning to read their license agreements before they download software, and stop using unauthorised versions.
March 21st, 2008 at 10:57 am
no bugs in the app on my n95. I think the only reason it was released for the n81 was because it was buggy on that phone. And if only the bugs have been fixed for the n81 and there is bugs in it for other phones then their show up when ngage goes live. So it would of been better to sort out all bugs in the beta version.
March 21st, 2008 at 11:03 am
i got over 1000000 xp in costa rica. Not counting all the other places in creatures of the deep. Its just a shame to loss all that hard work to get to number one in the world.

WELL said Jaydrive! All this whining really is sad, some ppl just never gets happy it seems :S
I mean gosh, you’re all acting like kids. Just… shut up, sit still and wait patiently for the commercial launch, will you? >

Hey guys,
We took the feedback from the blog and we have decided taht the Experience Survey will now be opened to all who participated in First Access:
http://blog.n-gage.com/archive/fasurveyupdate/
The point wipes can’t be helped, as Jaydrive notes they are on different databases.
March 21st, 2008 at 1:42 pm
the points are not important, the save game data is. If we can still access the save game data on our phones then as soon as we connect to ngage our points would be uploaded again.
March 21st, 2008 at 2:32 pm
What the heck, my last comment was somehow cut off it seems :S I’ll try again - it’s a good thing I saved it.

March 21st, 2008 at 2:34 pm
*sigh* One last try, this time I’ll try to shorten it down some and see if that helps…
You all just don’t seem to understand that the developers can’t simply snap their fingers and magically have a working, stable service with everything up and running on all phones - no problems connecting, no bugs, nothing. A ton of work lies behind this new N-Gage platform and I for one would much rather give them the time needed to get everything right than have them release a crippled version tomorrow.
First impressions are VERY important after all and Nokia REALLY needs to get this right if they want to have a chance against all the N-Gage haters out there who turns up their noses just by hearing the name “N-Gage”.
Go purchase a game, rent a ton of movies, hang out with friends or whatever that you feel will help you withstand these last few weeks that we now have to wait before they can release the polished version of the new N-Gage platform.

Indeed. A place for those who belive that “in a few weeks” is the same thing as the “27th”.
March 22nd, 2008 at 5:25 am
Haha, OphilO….dude you keep referring to playing COTD as hard work! Mate, it’s a game….no work involved. It’s FUN, you know…the opposite of WORK! I was probably the 1st to get 100% on COTD, but I’m looking forward to starting again actually!
March 22nd, 2008 at 12:58 pm
@shadowspawn
dude read all the forums not only this N-gage one and you won’t say what you are anymore.
First off
it is not written anywhere that March 27 is the launch date of the full ver of N-gage app.
the only info given is that First Access is ending on Mar 27
And noobs are called noobs coz that reason
Oh and btw not all Nokia shops have give a demo of the phone and even if they do, how is some regular user supposed to know what Nokia is gunna come up wid afer 6-8 months of the purchase(except for if that person is an Official tester for Nokia)
Mind telling me which new software or features are they gunna come up wid for the N96 5-6 months from now.
And dude if you say we are”whining noob people” AND “”OR if you’re going to point out at my typos, then you are desperate to try to look smart.”"”
then mind telling me why the hell you pointing out at noob peoples’s questions and “”typos”".
OH and FYI you are not the only user around having a Nokia phone, there are many noob’s like us who have Nokia devices too.
and why the hell are you justifying yourself, that too exactly 5 mins after your first post.
Please man grow up and get your frustration out somewhere else.

I have some comments and questions. Can somebody help me in getting the answers?
1. Why is N-Gage ending march 27th??? I WANT TO PLAY MY GAMES! Will my app work after that date???
2. Will they add new devices to the new application? I want to play on my N73.
3. What about Save games? Will I lose them? Can I keep my N-Gage points??
4. Do I have to buy the games again that I already bought?
5. What about my profile? Do I have to start over? Which one will I use from March 27?
I’m sick of all this waiting! Now we have to wait again. When will they announce the launch date?
I bought my phone just to play N-Gage!!! I don’t want to keep this piece of junk otherwise!!!
I want N-Gage for N70! Why do they limit the devices???
March 25th, 2008 at 12:12 pm
Super platform!
March 25th, 2008 at 11:28 pm
Yeah seriously can you please add support for the 6120c?! Not only do we not have Lifeblog but now no N-Gage either! The N73 has a MUCH slower processor, and also no diagonal movement either, so why is the 6120 missing out??

March 27th, 2008 at 8:07 am
Carl - in response to your questions.
1. Why is N-Gage ending march 27th??? I WANT TO PLAY MY GAMES! Will my app work after that date???
N-Gage “First Access” is closing on March 27 so that the N-Gage Team can transfer our data and accounts to the next gen database - A new application will be ready at “Go Live” which is the full version. The app will still work, and you can still play your games.
2. Will they add new devices to the new application? I want to play on my N73.
I don’t have any info on that, so you’ll have to be patient on that.
3. What about Save games? Will I lose them? Can I keep my N-Gage points??
That was already explained above. Everyone will be reset so no-one has a headstart.
4. Do I have to buy the games again that I already bought?
No - just use the same activation code. It’ll re-activate the game and you’re good to go.
5. What about my profile? Do I have to start over? Which one will I use from March 27?
The log in name you registered on the “First Access” application will stop working. The one you use on the forums will be the name you use from the point of “Go Live”
