Getting it Right
As has been reported online, the N-Gage launch is now ready and loaded for December.
Because we want to ensure you receive the best possible experience at launch, we’re working hard to deliver the most polished mobile gaming experience possible.
Once we go live by the end of the year, the free N-Gage application will be available for download right here on N-Gage.com, along with free game trials from our Showroom.
And I wouldn’t be surprised if some new games were added to that list between now and the new launch date. ![]()

Better to get it right this time than risk another botched launch.
Also, the hardware is already out there, you can already buy compatible phones in the shops, and many millions of people have already done so.
There’s nothing that the launch would add in terms of Xmas shopping because the games are sold as direct downloads, once you have the phone that’s all you need to access the games.

Hi Stefan, no we’re not really giving out the details right now

This is massively disappointing but not unexpected, Nokia have always had problems sticking to release dates. That said they could have made the preview app thats included with the N81 available to the rest of us in the meantime to make up for the disappointment. Also they really need to work on that games line up as a lot of them look like 3rd rate java games, they need more games like ONE.

I hope that Nokia uses this extra time to push developers like Glu and Gameloft to actually do something with their numerous Java ports to make them valuable to the platform. Either way, I agree with Krisse. Better right and a little late than wrong and compromised. In gaming, the only second chances are the next generation.

so the games are only available 1st december?

I think limiting the N-Gage to purely N-Series phones is a big big mistake, you’d get so much more coverage if you expanded it to models such as the 6120 and the 6110. I work at a allphones (Australia’s biggest mobile retail chain) and know for a fact they are nokia’s biggest selling phones outside of N95. You guys seriously need some focus, if its going to be N-Series only, then have it on phones with 3d chips only and launch some graphics heavy games. Why release N-Gage on an average spec N73 and not on a E65 (which also sold by the bucket loads, despite being an Business phone), 6120 (which is so cheap on a Hutch/3 cap plan) or the 6110, hell or even the E90 since it has the hardware chip already.
Nokia released such awesome hardcore games on the original N-Gage platform, I can’t help but feel (looking at the launch titles) that Nokia is shooting themselves in the foot again… Remember everyone has only 2 feet.

I’m very sad… I’ve waiting so long time. “hope that they doing some redesign”? I hope that they will not redisign. Screenshots are very beautifull.

Why the N-Gage Website do not be update whit this info?
In all N-Gagewebsites (official) i see November for the launch.
I think the N-Gage needs more realtime Arenagames and high quality Games (N95 make it possible). But i am really content with the System Rush Demo and i belive that Nokia now do more and better Games that before. I love N-gage. ^^
November 4th, 2007 at 11:35 pm
I would like to ask how to participate in n-gage platform game development and distribution?
November 4th, 2007 at 11:40 pm
well!its disappointing to see the delay, but I wont mind waiting another month, if you guys promise us that Next gen N-GAGE will surely release before christmas
November 5th, 2007 at 4:56 am
I agree with krisse.
And I hope we will see BIG improvments on the games that currently dont deserve the title of “N-Gage Game”.
I’m talking about those java ports with no changes at all.And the games that might as well be java.
Yup, I’m talking about Brain Challenge, Midnight Pool 3D and WSOP.
Also, I’d really like to know WHY they reduced the number of boards in MHP.
And I just cant but wonder why the N-Gage, designed as a connected gaming commonuty platform as it is, will have new games with no Arena functions.
I’m looking at you, Bounce, Brain Challenge, Midnight Pool 3D, WSOP, Sims 2 Pets, Brothers in Arms, Asphalt 3 Street Rules and FIFA ‘08 (Tho they did promise us real time online play in an interwiev!).

Hi..

sorry about this comment.. I dont know where to suggest this..
I have a ngage-qd & a suggestion…
what if ngage team collaborate with nokia python team to include a 3d engine,OpenGL maybe..
PyS60 for ngage is v1.4(unofficial)… with a limited support for graphics… and no 3D-graphic whatsoever…
it would be a blast for us programmers…
and maybe, this will revive ngage glory!

“Better to get it right this time than risk another botched launch.”
Hahahaha! Yeah, that extra month is really going to save the platform. I was worried there for a while, but now that I hear they’re taking the time to ‘get it right’, I’m sure it won’t fail miserably. Right?
This is probably wishful thinking, but I really hope they release some sales numbers so we can all see how the new N-Gage dominates the gaming industry.

There are no games or demos in the Showroom yet, since the N-Gage application hasn’t launched. Right now the pages are just there for you to see what games we will offer when we launch.
