Hey ikona, Since the morning I am trying to log to arena.n-gage.com ,but getting error everytime. Error 503 ,etc sometimes the login page loads forever. Please fix the problem

Well… a great idea Ikona, i’m sure N-Gagers around the world would love to participate.
But there’s a slight problem.
According the entry qualifications, individual persons may not enter the competition.
Can Nokia run a seperate event? perhaps take ideas from individual persons and they get the chance to develop it further from there?
I did have plans to enter, but obviously rules are rules.

This is lame. Without allowing contributions by individuals you are keeping out the really unique ideas and keeping this separate from the community. If Nokia wants really innovative ideas it needs to start trying to get them from innovative sources using innovative methods. This same contest was done in 2003-2004 and the game never became an N-Gage release or a Symbian release of note. It disappeared, as did the developer and the chance to really do something unique.
“If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you’ve always got.”
Nokia should start listening to the community and linking it to the development community so that new innovative results can be gotten, but this continued isolation and assumption that every gamer is an idiot who will simply ask for a GTA clone is an amazing waste of a resource that Nokia already has on call 24 hours a day every day the servers are up.
This should be redone with it opened to individuals and allowing multiple submissions. That will yield some truly promising results.

did you ever played call of duty on a n-gage pd?i thought it was great…sometimes a little bit to slow…but lets compare the power of an n95 and a n-gage qd…and GTA would be the hottest game of all

What about “Harvest Moon” i like the game
April 6th, 2008 at 12:50 am
umm, so we need to have a developer team to enter the contest?
does this mean that Nokia will fund the winning teams game?
Man, I always wanted to run a game company, but I dont think its possible.
I mean, I am creative and I can design stuff* on paper, but I have no skills in coding or art.
*From rules to levels to character personalities. (I suck at drawing.)

Good idea, but with the last N-gage there was a similar concept and at the end, no game was released :/

Hey guys, sorry it took a couple days to get an answer back.
Anyway, yes Jaydrive this contest is for developers only — however developers do answer our blogs, so we posted here it as well.
Maniac, there are online tutorials on how to start off on developing games to be sure, but none from Nokia that I am aware of. I would assume most people would take some programming first and try their hands at a java or web game before trying to jump right into N-Gage development.

Hey Ikona, thanks for all your great works on this blog! Maybe you can post a new topic to re-assure the N73 and N93 users because there are many people who are disappointed that their handsets are still not updated to play the ngage 2.0.
