Most-Anticipated Mobile Games
Starting the new year off right, Pocket Gamer has put together a list of their ten most-anticipated mobile games for 2008, and making the cut are no less than four N-Gage titles.
At number nine is Dirk Spanner, our recently-announced detective game, which Pocket Gamer describe as: “mixing a film noir graphical style with a splash of quirky humour, the point-and-click one-button detective game will see you battling an array of femme fatales and gangsters.”
Third on this list is Creebies, another new title we announced last month. Regarding the collectible creature game, the author notes: “there appears to be plenty of tongue-in-cheek humour as you’ll start the game with virtual cash and mobile home in which to keep your Creebies. So does that mean they’re trailer trash?”
Number two on the list is the little-known “Project White Rock,” a still unannounced title which we have written about on this blog before. Regarding it, Pocket Gamer notes: “Of all our most anticipated mobile games for 2008, Nokia’s Project White Rock is the most mysterious. All that’s been announced is that it will run both on N-Gage handsets and PCs, feature connected play and be ‘innovative.’ ”
Finally their most-anticipated mobile game for 2008 is Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, a multi-platform game also headed for N-Gage. Be sure to check out our developer’s interview and gameplay video right here on N-Gage.com.
So what is your most-anticipated mobile game for 2008? Tell us which one, and why ![]()

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is by far my most anticipated game. I love how much the game play has changed from the usuall star wars games. I wish there were more videos on the game play though. And I wish there was some idea as to the price of these mobile games.

What a joke. They are only on the list because we will be anticip………ating them for months because Nokia can’t get their act together. If anyone from these development companies sees this post- please put some presure on your vendor, you are losing money everyday they don’t release the platform for your games!!!! I’m sure you already know this, but come on stick the boot into them for your customers sake.

Whilst i’m normally very positive about all things n gage, this is actually a little disappointing. In a poll for the most anticipated mobile games, i’d hope for more than just 4 of the 10 to be n gage games, considering we are looking at effectively games that are of the caliber of a hand held console rather than the java based applets that the rest of the chart will be based on. Never mind, at least with white rock sitting in second position, a game whos real title hasn’t even been released, let alone a screen shot, there is definatly some interest being drummed up for n gage! Peace out x

January 8th, 2008 at 11:30 pm
Come on guys. Cut Nokia and the N-gage team some slack. Most of you are acting like you’v never let anybody down, or you’v never been late for something. And all these people saying. ‘oh forget about it im not interested anymore’. Look, if you were not interested you wouldn’t be on here looking at the comments and contributing to the discussion. Im a gamer through and through but, im being patient. For god sake just download a game on your phone or better still just go home and play on your xbox or your playstation. I think the n-gage system is gonna be awesome. I also think the wait is gonna be worth all the while. So stop you’r moaning and do what a lot of people are doing, and just check every now and then to see if there has been any progress.

Mile high Pinball is really cool, but i only want some Games whit good graphic and Onlinemode. I hope my N95 8GB will use his 3D-chip by launch.
January 9th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
I would say One 2. Just hope the gameplay will be fine on mobile devices.
January 10th, 2008 at 7:11 am
thom.com… Fully understand your comment, and agree…but for nokia to post that n-gage would be released towards the end of december,(then due to errors in testing) and be told nothing from there on end seems alittle off, would be nice to see a more active stance on renewing updates on progress to release…apart from that, space impact-kappa base a must.
