Guardian Calls White Rock ‘Most Promising’
The Guardian, a widely-read and influential UK newspaper, has called ‘Project White Rock’ one of the most promising games of 2008.
Writing on the Guardian’s games blog, Keith Stuart has put together a list of the 20 most promising games of 2008, including White Rock alongside such stalwarts as Advanced Wars, Street Fighter, and StarCraft.
Regarding White Rock itself’, he says:
“Little is known about Nokia’s flagship title for the re-invented N-Gage platform - just that it’ll run on both mobile and PC, with users of both platforms presumably able to compete with and against each other in some kind of online adventure.”
He’s particularly impressed with the game’s developer, RedLynx, creator of the award-winning Pathway to Glory. He calls Pathway to Glory “brilliant,” and adds, “Would have been a million seller on Nintendo DS.”
Project White Rock is an unannounced first party N-Gage game, first mentioned publicly at last year’s Game Developer’s Conference — see this blog post for details, or search the blog for ‘whiterock’ for more mentions.

Where is the N-gage. Broken promises + more hype + more delays = Angry customers. Remember - the customer is king.

I only hope that the Grapic is nice and the Gameplay is perfect.
But i belive that is possible, because Pateway to Glory is one of the best Games that i have ever play on a Mobile System!

I worry about the future of N-Gage. These broken promises and lack of information does not bode well for the future.

I have a N81 and I am very happy with it,try it and you will fall in love with it. I’m waiting like all of you for the new N-GAGE application, but I’m sure we all have something else to play until is released. keep it up! NOKIA you know it and I know it,new year=new life=new energy,so take your time and deliver us the best experience ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
January 11th, 2008 at 1:54 pm
where is this tibiaME? What does it involve shadowspawn? Steve88 did you buy the n81 purely for the n gage? Have you not used any of the other features like the music player or accessing the internet through the wifi or even, heaven forbid, as an actual phone? I bought the n81 for the n gage capabilities, but while i’m disappointed at the delay, i’ve consoled myself with having a fantastic phone with many other features. Peace out x

Well said Narizon! Although i hope they don’t take their time, patience may be a virtue, but i’m no saint!
Peace out x

It’s rare that one issue can delay a project for over a month though Nokia. You must have really come across some underlying problems.

narizon, so Nokia are gonna loan me a PSP or DS until they release the N-Gage application, cool……..
