N-Gage Today
• Ewan Spence over at All About N-Gage takes a look at recent reviews of FIFA 2008, then wades into the discussion on how Nokia should be marketing its games via free offers. He feels Nokia should be giving away Snakes Subsonic.
• Meanwhile Stuart Dredge over at Pocket Gamer takes aim at the issue of global leader boards, bemoaning the fact that pretty soon people better than you blow you off the boards. He suggest the future is local rankings.
• Definitely not N-Gage related, but for those of you Francophones with Nseries devices, we have just opened the Nokia Music Store in France.

Re: Stuart Dredge - I have to agree with that. It’s not really encouraging, but what would REALLY be cool is if you could view personal boards - i.e., those populated with only people on your friends list.

giving games away does make sales. A friend of mine i was showing my ngage games to was not very interested in them until i told him about the free football game (people like hearing the word free lol). Now he told me he has been playing a few of the other games. It is good marking giving stuff away. When is the free snakes game coming out :o)

why cant you play the games you got with first access mate. Just download them off the net if you havent got a copy of them on your phone or pc.

Totally agree on the leaderboards issue, there will always be people with incredible gaming skills (or just too much time on their hands) who will occupy the top 10 or top 50, especially as N-Gage moves onto tens of millions of devices. The vast majority of gamers will never get near the top of the leaderboards.

@phil this is not the legal way to play the games again. I don’t do it because may the app crashs. But if you think its the right way than do it. I hope they will release the games soon for the full app

As I recall, we did have Friend Rankings back at the QD days. Though making rankings by location WOULD be cool! Just country accurate would be fine, so we can brag were better than others!
But yes, making Snakes Subsonic free WOULD make a lot of sense:
1. Snake(s) has always been free.
2. Its the worlds most renowned mobile game.
3. Because of #2 making it free and to be pre-installed on an N-Gage device will be a great way to introduce new people to N-Gage!
4. It appeals to all audiences, so theres no risk for it to be un-interesting for people to try. Free new snakes game preinstalled on device = more N-Gagers.
